ISHA: BRIEF PROFILE, ITS COMPETENCIES AND RESOURCES

-       ISHA is an association of professionals and administrators interested in health. Formed in 1979, it is a premier professional body.

-       ISHA has organized todate 25 national conferences and conducted over 1200 training programmes in which over 200,000 professionals and administrators have participated.

-       ISHA has carried out large number of studies at national, state, and local levels in health and family welfare, maternal health, TB, geriatrics, cancer, HIV-AIDS, cardiac, stress related disorders, community health, and organizational health.

-       ISHA is financially self-reliant and doesn’t depend on grants, donations, or funds locally or from abroad.

-       ISHA has over 5000 professional members and over 500 institutional members. It has 58 regional offices headed by Regional Directors.

-       ISHA has the most modern training and office facilities, library, documentation center, databank, computerized facilities, space area 30,000 sq.fts Seminar rooms and residential facilities for 60 participants. The facilities are most modern compared to the best Institutes in the world.

-       ISHA has linkages with major training, research, and consultancy organizations in the world.

-       ISHA has over 200 resource faculty in health, medicine, nursing, administration, architecture, engineering, industrial and environmental health, and software specialties to conduct training programmes, research studies, and consultancy projects at national and international levels.
